Following the frenetic and zany style of the legendary Ray Carson, these spreads express the surfing scene in a unique way. Choosing and manipulating from a wealth of provided stock imagery to capture the carefree feeling and overall sense of freedom surfing provides was the biggest challenge.

Using personally letterpressed type on orange paper, scanned in, pushes the chaotic tone and tangibility of the elements working in harmony.

Using kids (even upside-down ones) doesn't limit the idea of surfing to those who may do so competitively, as it simply seeks to remind us of the unwavering sense of excitement in new experiences.
